The Upton Town Library is committed to providing a wide range of services to library users of all ages. Service to young adults is of vital importance to us. The teenage years are a crucial time of transition as children grow into the full rights and responsibilities of adults. Upton Town Library helps to foster independence skills while still taking into consideration the different needs for patrons ages 12-18.

Young adult materials include fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, and magazines. Currently, we offer a Teen Group program which meets weekly on Tuesdays at 3:00 for ages 10-16 and Teen Reads which posts monthly book recommendations from our Young Adult Collection. Special and seasonal events are held throughout the year on a registration basis.

School outreach is a part of our services. Local schools are supported with school project materials, summer reading titles, as well as collaborative events with school librarians.

Teen Group is an after-school group that meets weekly on Tuesdays at 3:00 via ZOOM. Students have the chance to make new friends, explore theme-based projects, and just have fun! Tweens and teens welcome this opportunity to develop independence skills and give input to our Young Adult collections and programming. Recommended for ages 10-16.

Teen Reads is a way to learn about new titles exclusively from our Young Adult Collection. Young Adult Librarian, Lee Ann Murphy, posts recommendations each month for what's new and fresh in YA lit! Copies of the current month's recommended title will be available behind the circulation desk, as well as on Mrs. Murphy's staff pick shelf.
For ages 14-18.
