Garden Day!

Saturday, May 18th
10am – 2pm : Plant swap, Booksale, Raffle
10am – 11am : Worm composting demonstration
12pm – 12:15pm : Mulching tips with Greg Trussell
2pm : Raffle Drawing

Raffle tickets are now on sale at the Library, $5 for 3 tickets or $10 for 10 tickets.
            Item #1   4 week CSA share from Long Life Farm in Hopkinton, MA.  Each week in August, the winner of this item will be entitled to a bag full of seasonal organic produce.  Estimated value $120
            Item #2  Compound action Lopper donated by Koopman Lumber.  A sturdy tool for trimming branches, shrubs and pruning trees, estimated value $40

Raffle Drawing 2pm : purchase tickets this week at the library, or at our Garden Day events.

Plant Swap 10am-2pm :  Bring a small potted plant ready to be transplanted and exchange it for someone else’s plant.  All varieties of Herbs, Flowers and Ground Covers are accepted.

Spring Booksale 10am-2pm : Browse a selection of gently used books and DVDs, including Gardening books, Cookbooks and a great selection of summer fiction!

Worm Composting Demonstration 10am-11am : Hands on demonstration of how to start your own organic worm composting bin, recycling table scraps into an ideal plant fertilizer through the magic of worms.  Free starter worms will be available!

Mulching discussion 12pm-12:15pm : Learn mulching tips and techniques from certified Horticulturalist and local business owner Greg Trussell of Plowman Landscaping, Upton MA.
